UNRAVEL ME

Writer's picture: Christopher PridmoreChristopher Pridmore

Unravel me

Tear the layers back and reveal me

Take all the pain that we now see

Give me peace forever

Pull my pieces together

Unpack the pain

You make me whole again

When you unravel me

Years, days, and hours of cultivation

Born from more than biology

Or the towns we lived in

Our pedigree is formed in trauma drama

Events we stayed in

Danger

Two of kind or two toxic beasts

Vacillating in and out of lanes west to east

Peace treaties are hard to come by

Cuz our layers were formed from

Two crazy lifetimes

Unravel me

Tear the layers back and reveal me

Take all the pain that we now see

Give me peace forever

Pull my pieces together

Unpack the pain

You make me whole again

When you unravel me

Random fights and outburst moments

feels like storm clouds rolling over us

We hear words uttered in anger

We place them in buckets

Danger

We scatter and shatter all that is around us

We launch a fear offensive upon us

We don't stop for a moment and realize

That everything is not as it seems

And the truth can only be seen when you

Unravel me

Tear the layers back and reveal me

Take all the pain that we now see

Give me peace forever

Pull my pieces together

Unpack the pain

You make me whole again

When you unravel me

Years of pain and untold stories

Whispered trauma and bottled-up horrors

We wander lost in the mindful wash

We stray alongside triggers and loss

Danger

Yeah, as we walk through valleys

Yeah, as we march past death

Yeah, as we grow faint

Yeah, as we stumble, tumble, humble ahead

It is the light that pierces the dark that

Unravels me

Tears the layers back and reveals me

Takes all the pain that I now see

Gives me peace forever

Pulls our pieces together

Unpacks the pain

It makes me whole again

When it unravels me
